In the last few months, the often invisibilised care-work that WoC do in academia with students & other WoC colleagues has become even more invisibilised. I don& #39;t have energy to write more about this (and time too), but I& #39;ll just say...
... that while many academics are making videos & writing about all the care work & pedagogical labour they are expending, some of us are doing so much that there is no room to reflect, write, document even. Depts & universities seem to think that students are not okay but okay
But they have no idea what& #39;s actually going on. They have no idea how we are taking care of each other and although that& #39;s allowing us to get through each day, we are truly exhausted
I know what matters is what is being done - the work of holding each other - but the ways in which this work is even more invisible now (to those that define our material and structural conditions) is a whole new layer of exhaustion. That& #39;s all for now, someday we& #39;ll write more.
