Here is why I relate to DnD half elves:

I'm half Korean. The rest is white and Native American (I'm a Chickasaw citizen)

Being half means I'm always going to be other. In white communities, I'm asian, and in asian communities, I'm white.
Here are quotes from the PHB:
"Walking in two worlds but truly belonging to neither"
"To humans, half-elves look like elves, and to elves, they look human." Sound familiar?

"...half-elves are uncommon enough that one might live for years without meeting another." Yup.
"They range from under 5 ft to about 6 ft tall, and from 100 to 180 pounds." Even the physical description is spot on?!

This one made me laugh: "They tend to have the eyes of their elven parents."
"Many half-elves learn at an early age to get along with everyone, defusing hostility and finding common ground."

I've always had odd groups of friends. Popular kids, misfits, I got along with everyone. Except this one racist kid.
Anyways, I wonder how much of this is intentional. With the orc coding, it likely could be?
obviously, if it were intentional, this isn't painful in the way the orc and half orc is painful. It's just that I find it fascinating how closely it reflects my own experience being of half a race?
