I walked the neighborhood this morning. I'm shaking with rage and grief for my community. We need first to deescalate the violence. The violence of the MPD and the violence of the looters. 1/x

Then we need to focus on uprooting the culture of racism and impunity within the MPD. We need a police department that serves the community, respects the community, embraces accountability, and respects civilian leadership and oversight. 2/x

And we need to hold each other close and find ways to heal. As individuals and as a community. In new and different ways that strength the bonds, deepen our connections, and rebuild an inclusive Minneapolis. 3/3
