so apparently the aave thread i quoted earlier wasn't even tweeted by a black person i'm so ??? anyways i'm just gonna say this again ik it's my responsibility to make sure my language doesn't make black people uncomfortable so i'm trying to do more research but if i ever use-
-aave in a way that makes any black oomfs uncomfortable pls feel free to come at me and i will stop using those words, i've been seeing some mixed info but im now realizing that non black people have taken it upon themselves to makes threads about aave which doesn't make sense to
-me and seems to me and seems to be kinda inherently speaking over black people but anyways... i do fully acknowledge that aave is not stan twt language and its not lgbt language and referring to it as that is appropriation so i'm going to do my best to think very consciously-
-about the way i speak and the words i use. i did go to a high school where most of the girls i knew watched drag race and james charles so you can probably only imagine how the lunch table was sounding and i think i've broken a lot of the habits i used to have but if i ever-
-slip up please lmk and i will do my best to correct myself!! i seriously don't want to make any oomfs uncomfortable with the way i tweet and this thread is already getting to long so i'm just going to end it here!!
this is the thread that oomf recommended to mean on the subject btw!! but make sure whatever threads you're using as guidance are written by black people because apparently some are going around that haven't which is ??? https://twitter.com/cherrybabyhoney/status/1265458260120870915?s=20
