I'd like to take a moment to use my big platform to push you towards some great, hardworking local Minn. reporters who are covering the hell out of the murder of George Floyd, the protests, and the violence that followed ...
. @rljourno and @StribJany were on the ground last night at Minnehaha and Lake. They were getting solid interviews with protesters and with people who were looting.
. @LizNavratil and @WedgeLIVE both cover city hall. Watch this space for political responses.
Video journalist @MDVancleave had some harrowing footage of the fires last night. As did @maxnesterak, who also lives in the neighborhood near the protests.
. @UR_Ninja is an independent reporting outlet that specializes in video reporting, particularly live streams of events with no editing or cuts. They can often get interviews with people who won't talk to mainstream reporters.
. @AndrewMannix covers courts and law enforcement for the Star Tribune. He was on the ground some last night as well.
. @JaredGoyette is a Minneapolis freelance reporter who got hit with a police projectile in the face last night while doing his job.
@bengarvin is a photojournalist who is out this morning documenting the aftermath.
I've also been following @jeremiah4north who is a city councilman that has been heavily involved in public safety in this city and has been on the ground the last two nights.
One last reporter: @webster ... he's out this morning also. He also is the source for news that City Council President Lisa Bender is currently in the Boundary Waters out of cell phone range.
These folks have all been working hard. Some of them have been injured. Follow them if you want to know what is happening in Minneapolis rioting and #GeorgeFloyd protests. Tip them and subscribe to their publications. Thank you.
