Code editors really like to help out by {inserting, deleting} {parens, brackets, braces, quotes} and I spend an awful lot of time fighting with it and I'm pretty sure it's a net loser for me.
Example just now: I have foo()) and I want foo)

Me (normal person): put the cursor after the first ) and backspace twice
You (editor): as directed, I shall delete all three parens
Here's a fun game. Try to find the most efficient way to type this into a Scala file in VS-Code with Metals.
I can do it with one cursor repositioning. Can anyone do it in zero? I'm pretty sure it's impossible.
