Working in the ER.. There is a term called OK-TO-BOOK.. They bring the beat up individual to the ER because they have hurt them so horribly and they have to by law get medically cleared to send them to jail.. I’ve had patients whisper to me please he tried to kill me.

I would make sure I reported it. Wrote down every bruise, contusion, cracked rib, open point of entry, holding back tears and anger cause they know they can’t be touch for this type of abuse.. I’ve seen racism up close and personal. I’m extremely tired of it..

I’ve been told by my supervisors, this is the norm if they had not tried to run or commit a crime they wouldn’t be here. I knew what side my supervisors stood on. I knew it was pointless to even bring up the bruitality to them. Their privilege will never be in that predicament.

I don’t talk about everything but my experience with racism is real.
