The overwhelming majority of black people in America are living with post traumatic stress disorder, & we have been living with PTSD for many years in this country and we’ve never been to ‘war’...
We’ve lived through many nightmares that didn’t require sleep... We can’t erase the unwanted memories of our traumas and those experiences, we have #uncontrollable thoughts about these events...
We show all the symptoms & we’ve tried several alternatives to heal our nation & resolve this condition to the point to where we’ve been desensitized to many of our own traumas...
So instead of healing ourselves we suppressed how we felt to avoid dealing with it, but enough has been enough, & this generation won’t tolerate it...
We have been tasked to attempt to maneuver through a society full of snares and bobby traps as we try our best to ‘slip through the cracks’ & avoid the many situations where our life isn’t deemed ‘valuable’, and we can be murdered over some bs!
As a black man in America, I find it odd that in this flesh we can achieve a ‘high-estate’ and be revered as great athletes, actors, entertainers & personalities, yet when in a ‘low-estate’ the same flesh isn’t even seen as human and we can be killed like dogs in the street...
I’ve seen countless videos of cops being patient and passive when dealing with ‘others....’ And videos of cops being trigger happy, eager and willing when dealing with my people...
I don’t condone what’s going on in Minneapolis right now, but I understand... Police Brutality is bad for business in general... people are hurt and crying out, we’ve march and we haven’t been heard, so people are speaking a language anybody can interpret...
I fear for my family...
I fear for my colleagues & counterparts...
I fear for the student athletes...
I fear for the next man & his family...
I’m hurt and overwhelmed...
