Ok.. so I guess it is my turn for a thread about @bigdrewCON https://twitter.com/bigdrewCON/status/1265785490017566721
I have pretty much always worked in restaurants, mostly late nights. At one point before I made my own schedule the day shift was rare but when I had those shifts one of my favorite things was getting in the car and listening to Drew on the radio. It was forever ago...
I have heard Drew (and others) go through many things on the radio show, family member health issues, losing loved ones, and more.. but one thing that stood out to me about Drew was his vulnerability, not shying away from facing/sharing his emotions...
For the most part, that is rare. I also picked up on Drew being a caring individual. Using his platform for sharing experiences and pushing people to be better. I specifically remember a heartfelt message about going to the doctor when you don't feel right...
Eventually, I started using twitter more (haha) and interacting with the show and one day Drew mentioned something I said and then plugged the podcast I was doing at the time. Blew me away. The fact that he even knew that I was doing one...
Then opened the Copper Post and the first time I met Drew (& Jim) was at a food event at the zoo, they were packing up getting ready to go but they stopped and we talked for a few minutes. Eventually invited them to TCP...
One day Drew sent me a message wanting to do something special for his fairly new (a few months) girlfriend Amy. I picked up on little things on the radio show and on social that he had someone special in his life but the message he sent to me was so sweet and...
I could tell this was special. So they had dinner at TCP for valentines day, the dude sent me a picture of some incredible flowers he sent to her, told me she liked bourbon so we did a special 1/1 bourbon & chocolates pairing for dessert for her...
At some point they also came to a pairing dinner at TCP, ate bone marrow and the next day was made fun of for being fancy on the radio... it was special to me to have them there that night...
Eventually Drew started his path towards his surgery and man I am telling you I was impressed and encouraged by his dedication. Not surprised, but still...
Then I was through the roof to hear about the engagement, I knew it was special from the start. I am not a close friend to either of them but I felt like I knew Drew's heart was made of gold and their love was something special...
So when I found out that Drew wanted a certain pair of sneakers to wear for his wedding, first I cussed him out under my breath a little bit because they had released 3 weeks earlier, sold out instantly, and Ive seen them restock randomly but never had a reason to try for them..
BUT I digress... 😉 ... I knew I had to find the sneakers. It made me so happy to be on this job for their wedding, for Drew. Amy was so excited about it as well and when I told her I found them she was all about doing something special to surprise him...
I barely know the two of you @bigdrewCON & @Lil_Larso but I know enough to know that I am full of love for the both of you and have more positivity & optimism in my life because of you both. End thread. I'm not crying you are.
