Every time I watch through Brooklyn Nine-Nine as background noise I find the show& #39;s assertion that the problems with police are not systemic but merely the rare bad apple one increment more distasteful.

We can only hope season eight chronicles Jake& #39;s cognitive dissonance as he grapples with the realization of what modern police are and do and that perhaps "I like Die Hard" was not a healthy reason to become a cop.
Boyle admits he came to this conclusion in season 2 but didn& #39;t want to disappoint him.
