in northern territory 50% of move-on-notices were to aboriginal people when they’re ~4% of the population there, there’s stories every day of police telling them off for practicing their own culture

australia has a very long history of prejudice against indigenous peoples, from legal massacres and tortures, raping aboriginal women to “breed out the black”, slavery until the 1970s, they weren’t even legally seen as people until 1967

that’s really fucking recent, think about how many people you know born in the 60s + 70s
