Anyone complaining about looting after US corporations just walked off with trillions unaccountably and called it a “bailout” doesn’t need to be taken seriously.
Corporations stole TRILLIONS through a handout using panic to take full advantage of the worst disaster many of us have experienced in our lifetime. Someone breaking into a store on Main Street doesn’t even compare to the robbery Wall Street just pulled off.
This conversation always plays out the same. Even if everyone involved in every uprising in the last decade stole as much as they could out of every store they came across, it still wouldn't be a drop in the bucket of what Wall Street has stolen through financial crises.
These hedge fund monopolist thieves are running off with TRILLIONS they've stolen through slush funds and politics. They'll fly private jets and land on private runways in another country at their summer home while people wait in food donation lines and debate about looting.
Don't stand in a bread line arguing about looters while corporations rob us all for astronomical wealth. Unemployment is skyrocketing, medical debt is enormous, and people want food. There will be stealing because of conditions that already pointed to this BEFORE the pandemic.
The real robbery is the system that creates the desperate conditions where people in need have to go and take for themselves. Capitalism encourages stealing, but ONLY by those at the top. That's why prices are way up. Until this is addressed, forget all this “looting” nonsense!
