Regarding the shameless, unspeakable slander by a troll @CynthiaDRitchie targeting Shaheed BB. The PPP has always believed in taking the high moral ground and not responding to filthy, baseless accusations. 1/9

Benazir Bhutto has been subjected to these slanderous and shameless accusations for decades and yet the people of Pakistan and the world continue to love, respect and admiration on her.
Shaheed BB does not need to be defended against a two bit troll spewing shameless filth.2/9

However, @CynthiaDRitchie’s depraved and utterly false remarks against a global icon of democracy and courage have hurt the feelings of millions of people in Pakistan and around the world. 3/9

This troll also pretends to have influential backers. For legal and moral reasons this will be responded to, a precedent set and she be held accountable. 4/9

The PPP will formally initiate defamation proceedings against her and we are receiving reports that many followers of Shaheed BB are planning to do the same in different parts of the country. 5/9

This is also a test for the FIA Cybercrimes division to prosecute and hold accountable someone who deliberately seeks to hurt the feelings of tens of millions of Pakistanis and create mischief. 6/9

We will also now seek an investigation into the job description of this troll, her source of incomes and her claims of having close links with important institutions of Pakistan. 7/9

There are lines of decency that should not be breached and legal consequences incurred when they are.
We owe to Shaheed BB and also to follow her example of not letting bullying, slanderous filth go unchallenged. 8/9

Religion, morality, decency and legal norms demand that such misogynistic, hate speech be fought with legal remedies. The identity, background and job description of this hateful troll will also be brought before the people of Pakistan. 9/9
