police barged into his home with no warrant and began to assault him infront of his grandmother. they then dragged his body and threw him into the back of the police car, they claimed he was armed which was proven false. he passed away in custody.
julieka ivanna dhu, 22:

julieka was an indigenous woman subjected to days of inhumane torture at the hands of police in custody for unpaid fines. she was ignored on several occasions when she requested medical treatment.

she eventually succumbed to her injuries.
rebecca maher, 36:

brought into police custody for “being intoxicated in public” she was slowly becoming unconscious. she needed medical attention immediately. the police arrested her instead.and upon finding her almost lifeless body in the cell did nothing to try to save her.
shaun coolwell:

his family called paramedics to help him after he had injured himself due to not coping well as he lost his brother to police brutality the police were called saw him as “dangerous” bc he was distressed.... he passed away in custody. he needed mh support.
these are just a small number of lives lost, there is plenty more and i will try to continue this thread as i go and remember more stories. so i can try to put faces to them. police violence to indigenous people is always brushed off. aus stays complicit #BlackLivesMatter https://abs.twimg.com/hashflags... draggable="false" alt="">
