Every time Messi and Ronaldo have come up against each other with the whole world watching, 90% of the time Messi went back with the glory. Exceptions: PR7's CDR header in '11, Calma Calma goal, winner in clasico'16 & the copied celebration in Supercopa'17.

CL final. Messi can't score headers. United playing their second consecutive CL final. Tall yer da(s) guarding the backline for Utd. Barça with a makeshift CB pairing of Pique-Toure. British media did their best to shove narratives to pip up United's golden boy.

Result:

2009-10: First clasico was a 1-0 win for Barça, Ibrahimovic scored. Second game was a 2-0 win for Barça with these gentlemen on the score sheet. Ronaldo was visibly pissed. Piqué pocketed him comfortably.

2010-11: Iconic season for a Barça fan. Leo delivered a playmaking masterclass to beat the shit out of RM, PR7 & Jose Mourinho. Scoreline: 5-0 in the first Liga clasico. Second one would end in a stale draw.

2010-11: Semi Finals, UEFA Champions League

Nothing to say here except the fact that Messi scored two goals against Real Madrid. One of which is inarguably the greatest goal of the competition. Smashed more than half of Real Madrid's team singlehandedly for the second goal.

2011-12: An overweight Messi runs riot against Madrid in the the Super Copa without any pre-season games under his belt. Scored thrice in an intense two legged game

Result? 5-4 win over two legs. Another Messi masterclass. Messi brought PR7 on his knees, LITERALLY.

2011-12: First league Clasico. Benzema would give Madrid the early lead. Ronaldo bottled massively in this game. Once again, Messi delivered a MOTM performance without scoring. If my memory serves me right, it was labelled the biggest La Liga Clasico until then.

Result: 3-1

2013-14: An unfit Messi, an out of form Messi scored thrice to beat Madrid 4-3. Easily Leo's most CR7-esque game. Barely did something but went home with a match winning hat-trick including two penalties.

Again, Ronaldo did what he does best when the two face each other:

2015-16: Messi recovering from an injury would come off the bench to have some fun and end up with a key pass that resulted in the 4th goal of the night. Nothing special really but Ronaldo had to suffer another humiliation.

2016-17: Away match, Leo hasn't scored in the Clasico for a while. Shoved bad & starts bleeding. Scores the winner at the last minute of the game. Eventually, would go on to lose the liga after being denied 6 points unfairly due to a non-existent goal line tech. Series of events:

2017-18: After Ronaldo's insecure ass shamelessly copied Leo's iconic celebration in a Super Copa game, the two face off at Bernabeu for the first La Liga Clasico. Another humiliation at home for PR7. Messi puts up another iconic celebration at the Bernabeu & the Liga is wrapped.

The two haven't faced since except the second Clasico of the 17-18 season in which both would score & the game would end in a 2-2 draw. We had already won the league by then & looked for an invincible league title (Fuck you EV). He has had his iconic moments in this battle, sure.

But they pale in comparison to the brutality Messi unleashed on him over nearly a decade. He hasn't suffered utter humiliations like 5-0, 4-0, 3-0 etc at the hands of Ronaldo. This is why Ronaldo still remains insecure despite his unreal CL and KO statistics.
