/ Today’s ⁦ @AmerMedicalAssn⁩ Advocacy Update:

•⁦ @CDCgov⁩ updated its guidance on #COVID19 #antibody #testing https://tinyurl.com/y984stjv  and is now more closely aligned with AMA antibody testing guidelines https://tinyurl.com/ydyb9lub .
/ @AmerMedicalAssn has been raising concerns about the accuracy and utility of #antibody tests, and is pleased to see this refinement from the #CDC which discourages using antibody test results to make policy decisions.
/ • @AmerMedicalAssn urged the @HHSGov to address the dire situation that American Indians and Alaskan Natives face in confronting the #COVID19 #pandemic. https://tinyurl.com/y7f57b9a  @USIndianAffairs @NIHB1 @IHSgov
/ #OurAMA is very concerned that promised federal funding to native populations has been very slow to be released or has not reached many tribal nations at all. Such assistance is vitally important to ensure that tribes have the resources to mount a full response to the virus.
/ • @AmerMedicalAssn signed on to a letter to #Congress with over 200 industry stakeholders calling on federal lawmakers to enact temporary and targeted liability relief legislation related to the #COVID19 #pandemic. https://tinyurl.com/y8g3g2sn
/ These crucial liability protections should safeguard businesses, non-profit organizations, & educational institutions, as well as #healthcare providers & facilities from unfair lawsuits so that they can continue to contribute to a safe & effective recovery from the #pandemic.
