#BlackLivesMatter #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd
Let us be part of change. Be more aware of what's happening. A peace activist was murdered in broad daylight by Minneapolis police. Check this thread for some links that may help us understand the issue at hand.

On the issue of stan twitter and trending stan-related hashtags:

I agree that #BlackLivesMatter needs to trend and hopefully reach most, if not all, of Twitter users. This is not the time, however, to call those who use stan-related hashtags insensitive or remorseless. (1/n)
This is not the time to put the hate or the blame on other people. The enemy isn't our mutuals, but the fallible criminal justice system. It does not sit well with me to call a fan insensitive just because he/she tweeted about a stan-related hashtag and not about the issue. (2/n)
Many things could have cause this: Some may still be unaware about what happened. Some probably have a more personal account where they tweet and spread awareness about what happened. Some uses stan twitter as a coping mechanism to escape their very own struggles. (3/n)
These said, instead of calling stans insensitive, let us rather focus on consistently sharing/posting news & petitions related to the issue, hoping to educate those who are not yet aware. We do not need new enemies, what we need are allies. So educate, not hate. (4/4)
And for those of us who are already aware about the issue, we can do the following:

1. Keep using #BlackLivesMatter
2. Sign (and share) the petitions.
3. Avoid using other hashtags. But we can still continue to support our idols by tagging their Twitter accounts. (1/n)
4. Twitter isn't the only battlefield. Do not restrict yourself here. Tell your relatives, your colleagues, your classmates, your friends, etc. about what's happening. Then proactively be part of the change that we want! (2/2)
