This is a labor negotiation subject to federal labor laws and the employment conditions for an organized work force and management group. It is not akin to producer and a star trying to ink a movie deal at Chasen's.

Upshot: Pay is closed. The owners can decide to play a season with prorata pay or they can choose not to play a season.
