NEW: Durham Police statement says Dominic Cummings *did* break lockdown rules during his stay in Durham.
They conclude that the 50-mile round trip to Barnard Castle did breach the regulations but no further action will be taken as “this would amount to treating Mr Cummings differently from other members of the public”.
Durham Police says it does not regard self-isolating at his parents’ homes as a breach of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020.

But clarifies they were looking only at breaches of regulations *not * Government “stay at home” guidance.
Durham Police says Dominic Cummings denies second trip to Durham on April 19 and they have seen “insufficient evidence” to support this allegation so will be taking no further action on this.
Boris Johnson regards this matter as closed, apparently.

No 10 spokesman: “The Prime Minister has said he believes Mr Cummings behaved reasonably and legally given all the circumstances and he regards this issue as closed.”
