I don't know what kind of black lives some people live where they can forget they are black so much that they need to see a video of a black person being murdered in order to remember they are black too.

Me, personally, I don't need to see black people being brutalised.

If you tell me a black person was killed by the cops, I believe you. I don't need to see the video. It's not that I'm building a bubble of ignorance, but those videos are gratuitous and I don't want to see them.

I remember we were at Wits once in 2015/2016 for an event, some white guy had hella images of brutalised black people in his presentation, Pontsho Pilane was like "I need you to stop this." Nompendulo was "I fEeL bLaCk PeOpLe NeEd To SeE tHiS. It'S rEaLiTy"

After that, we had a talk at the Hector Pieterson Museum auditorium, which was preceded by a walk through the museum. I walked in there for 2min max and went to sit outside. I was FINISHED. I don't know who those people thought we were, but they definitely had me fucked up.
