PHILOSOPHIES ON MEAT EATING (Thread)
1/ Evolutionary Take

- Humans are topmost of evolutionary chain
- Our jaws & digestive system are designed for plants
- Consume things far from our evolutionary position
- Vegetable> Milk> Fish> Chicken> Beef/ Pork etc.
- Fact: Eating latter has always caused epidemics
2/ Emotional Take

- Animals have feelings
- When killed: feelings of hurt, fear, pain transfer to food
- After eating: such feelings are dominant in eater
- Plants have feelings too, But animals are far more complex; having hormonal releases such as adrenalin
3/ Spiritual Take

- Hurting anyone adds to your karmic account
- Keep your karma minimum
- Leads to more mental peace, contentment, satisfaction
- Be cautious of feelings you generate in others
- Best example: Jainism
4/ Organic Take

- To increase flesh size, animals are pumped with hormones
- After eating: It damages your hormonal system & immunity
- Eat meat only if you 'know your source'; Organic
- Vegetarians need to be cautious of this too (inorganic milk/ veggies)
5/ Environmental Take (Vegan)

- Consuming animal products leads to huge pollution [CH4-release]
- Animals are forcefully reproduced to increase revenue
- Don't consume animal products: dairy, meat, honey, egg, fish
- Additionally: Animal-products are complex to digest
6/ Practical Take

- Since hunter-gatherer age, humans have eaten meat
- Eating primarily for protein/ creatine/ nutrient deficiencies
- Eating for climatic needs (keeping body warm)
- Eating for cultural/ traditional norms
7/ My Take

- Eat according to NEEDS, not WANTS
- Don't eat anything just because it makes you happy
- Think long term
- Be careful of what you put inside
- You can always upgrade to better philosophies
- Karma is real
- [ I'm ex non-Veg; now Veg; curious of Vegan ]
