I would just like to thank @txwomans for actually following through on the CARES Act & giving students the money needed to keep up in the middle of a pandemic. If you’re considering where to go for college based off how they helped during the virus let me tell you how twu helped
For starters we got to stay on campus. We weren’t forced to move out until our scheduled move out date.
They kept us informed of everything that was happening with the virus as well as the campus. Texas Women’s university is great at communicating.
Now let me list why twu is a great choice in general
Texas Woman’s is true to their mission statement they are truly a campus that CARES! Anything you need help with no matter what it is their is an employee somewhere to help you.
Twu always has events for their students to where free merch is available ( bring hangers bc the amount of shirts they give out is unbelievable)
Twu takes what we say and puts action to it. We got to decide what would be in our new union.
I work on campus for chartwells & they waisted no time handing out letter for us to file our unemployment and we were all guaranteed our same job once every thing cleared up
Twu isn’t a party school but we are literally a street away from UNT & they have enough parties to keep you satisfied.
Any questions we had were answered via email within a 24-48 hour time spand. Even if you email the dean you will receive an email back. If not from her then her assistant.
We were still able to use essential amenities on campus (The kitchen, The market, the cafe)
They understand that this is your campus too. This is a school where you could come with nothing but the clothes on your back and still be successful!
Lastly, there is every type of person at TWU. YES, EVERY type of person. You are almost guaranteed to find at least one friend.
