How to effectively use Twitter trends to your advantage?
[A thread with Proof]

Yesterday one of my tweet got:
+ 190 Likes
+ 30 RTs
+ 12,489 Impressions
+ 729 Total Engagements

Is this a good Tweet?
Yes, I would like to think so. But main reason?

#WalterWhite was trending yesterday, when I tweeted it. My tweet was one of the top trending ones.

Was it a coincident? No, I planned/timed it.

I have tried it a couple of times before.

This one time #12angrymen was trending, Look at the numbers.

And mind you, at this time I had less than 50 followers.

The other time I tried, #earthday was trending.
Not so successful this time. Low Impressions and low Engagement.

Why do you think that is?(continued..)

Walter white tweet had an IMAGE.
12 Angry Men Tweet has GIF
Earth Day Tweet just had TEXT.

Lesson: When you want to compete on a Trending topic, you have to stand out. Always use an Image or a GIF.

How to look for trending topics?
• Don't just rely on your country Trends
• Look at the global trends
• If you can in some way relate it to your Niche, go for it

In both of my successful Tweets I tried to relate to what I tweet often, so it remains relevant to my followers

Advantages?
Opens door for an untapped traffic to your Profile which otherwise would be difficult.

Disadvantage?
Lot of that traffic may not be interested in your Niche, that is why it is important to drive in the audience relating to your niche.
