hello & good morning! i'm aware that i might use aave in my tweets & i'm taking into account the opinions of black people on it. i want to apologise and want my black mutuals to inform me in case i've ever made anyone feel uncomfortable,
because i fully realise this is a cultural element people wish to preserve & i fully respect it, especially taking into account the social surroundings
this is self-justifying, but i was not introduced to these phrases as aave. whenever i suspect that a phrase is aave, i search it up and change my words
i need to search more on the matter because i truly don't know if some of the phrases i use are aave or not & it's fully my mistake i haven't researched deeply yet
i have used aave heavily in the past thinking it's "stan twitter slang" and i'm truly sorry for it. i continuously try to search which ones of the phrases i tend to use are aave & shall continue to research, learn about it and stop using it /every time/ i suspect a phrase is
aave, search for it and learn that it is/there's a chance it is from what i see through the search results
if you ever see me using aave, please inform me about it or please speak up if you feel uncomfortable with the way i speak/the way i have spoken in the past
lastly, i want to apologise because i hadn't taken the time to speak up about this before the topic arose. i still support everything i say in this thread, please talk to me/sb/block me if i make you feel uncomfortable and inform me if i use aave (if you feel comfortable to)
i will continue to stop using aave /every time/ i see a phrase that might be it. i wish black people stay safe in these trying times and hope that this injustice & murders of innocent people end.
