it’s weird that my community preaches for there to be solidarity, for there to be justice for racism against them, but when another black person gets murdered by police, they’re quiet. Can we please stop acting like that solidarity exists? can we actually work to fight the
anti-blackness in our communities that contributes to the systematic oppression of black people? can we actually listen to black peoples’ voices? like how can you see all this and sit there and be quiet? you all were yelling for black people to defend
us from xenophobia the beginning of this year and now what? they stood out for us and we aren’t doing enough. being able to sit back unbothered shows we are privileged. use that privilege to fight for black lives.
listen to black people. here is a thread by a black woman. read it all, educate yourself, do research, go on http://blacklivesmatter.com"> http://blacklivesmatter.com  just keep learning, it’s not optional. do it today. https://twitter.com/tidalectics/status/1258805548209901569">https://twitter.com/tidalecti...

don’t speak over black people, don’t tell them how to feel, don’t talk about how you feel because this isn’t about you. it’s our duty as an asian community, and i’m especially talking about the filipino community here in sd, who hasn’t been loud enough.
nothing i say can ever be enough, there’s always more we can do. and because of that, it’s my job and everyone else’s in this community to just keep educating ourselves, and to retweet from black people to spread awareness bc putting blm in your bio isn’t enough
another thread i found. only listen to black people, no one else can speak for them https://twitter.com/tpwkhollands/status/1265757092473954306">https://twitter.com/tpwkholla...

also realize it isn’t black peoples’ job to educate us, it’s only ours. i made this thread to target the asian community where i live because i see that we still need to speak up and do more. so i ask that other asians in my community can add to this thread.
however i’m only following tweets and threads from black people bc those are the only ones that matter. so @ my fellow asians, if you see others too, add the links. keep spreading awareness, keep learning, keep fighting, it’s not an option at this point. #BlackLivesMatter https://abs.twimg.com/hashflags... draggable="false" alt="">
