1/7 (bear with it...)
Luke 18:1-8
In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. & there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
2/7 “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come & attack me!’”
3/7 & the Lord said, "But you are not to do this. When someone is unjust towards you, you must *only* pray for God to bless them. Hush your cry & just love them. Love means not making them think on their actions or face the consequences of them because that's not very nice is it?
4/7 NO: the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. & will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, & quickly.
5/7 If love sees one going down a wrong path, harming self & others by their actions & leading others to harm by example, love cries out for justice & mercy & does not stop. In anguish, love cries out, not because it has turned to hate but because that *is* love.
6/7 So I pray for those #kneeling on the #neck of an #innocent #black man & I also pray & cry out for #justice. The 2 are not mutually exclusive. I pray for #DominicCummngs & I pray for truth & justice to prevail b/c 'love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the #truth.'
7/7 A false prophet says, 'Peace, peace,' where there is no peace & stifles the uncomfortable message. Anger against injustice is not sin: it is fuel for prayer, loving action & serving the oppressed. 'Niceness' is not the same as love. It is a stick to beat victims into silence.
