I see a lot of posts about hijab and sexual harassment so I'll make a thread on it
In the beginning of Islam women weren't ordered to veil up.
However the women of the family of rasoolAllah s.a.w. were constantly harassed amongst other women.
Arabs at the time were very rowdy and promiscuous in the first place so harassing women was normal to them
The family of rasoolAllah S.A.W. were constantly harassed so Allah sent down a verse with the order of hijab
The hijab has a beautiful wisdom behind it. The reason Allah ordered it was not nessecarily a magnetic repellent of perverts
It was so that the believing women were distinguished and separated from the non believing women
This was because when the women told them beforehand they were from the prophet's family the men acted innocent and claimed they didn't know
Now with the order of hijab the men had no excuse or reason to get away with their sick behaviour
People think that hijab is a repellant for perverts where infact it isn't.

It is simply just an order to distinguish non muslim women from muslim women
And it works very well in non muslim societies. In non muslim societies women who don't dress modestly are sexually harassed and catcalled.

However Muslim women are very rarely sexually harassed in the west

Note there is a difference between racial and sexual harrasment
In Islamic countries however it is different. Hijab is the norm and most people are muslim. Then it is the fault of the men who harass the women.

Hence Allah also instructs believing men to lower their gaze
People think that hijab is a repellant for all perverts when infact that's wrong.
Hijab has two beautiful wisdoms. To represent modesty.

And also to distinguish the non Muslims from Muslims.

Because in non muslim societies hijabis aren't the goto girls sexually.
I made this thread because I feel people don't know why hijab was ordered or the context behind it

And I made it to point out the wisdoms of hijab and how it is a two way street from both men and women.

Allah help us all
