Well playmates, after 40 years of using computers only for work, I have finally started to play video games on my laptops and tablets, which obviously puts a lot more strain on them. And oh dear me! - this morning I thought I'd lost the D drive on my main 15.5 inch laptop! 1/
I have put a number of games on my laptop, including #Civilization6, #FarCryPrimal, #TheWitcher3 - I'm so new to gaming, at the age of (ahem! - a few of you know!) - and am such a beginner at this - but OMG, what a huge culture of gaming there is! 2/
Anyway, I had to put the games from #Steam, #Epic, #GOG, etc. on my D drive 'cos my C drive is only little - and I thought I'd buggered up the laptop for good this morning, when the D drive seemed to disappear completely! 3/
I got the D drive back by rebooting a couple of times, and I can tell you it really put the wind up me. So I decided on the spot to do a complete backup and system image using that old Window 7 backup you seem to get even on Windows 10 PCs. 4/
The extended warranty on my Lenovo laptop has JUST expired, so if my D drive had really given up the ghost in protest at my recent decision to start playing video games, I'd have been well and truly buggered. So the point of this thread is to remind y'all to DO BACKUPS! 5/
