Nothing I hate more than seeing a black person who has clearly assimilated into a specific mode of existence assimilate a little too well. Like so well they forget that capping for yt ppl does not change the fact that no matter what some yts will always see you as a [redacted].

And I think that’s more so something a lot of black youth do when they are confronted with the reality that you can be close to whiteness and even have close relationships with yts, but that doesn’t change the fact that there is a huge race issue in America.

Like before social media, I was a child growing up in a pw environment. My brother and I didn’t even understand the concept of race until in preschool two boys proceeded to ask what we were (we didn’t understand the question) and then told us that we were “Spainish”

And it wasn’t in an offensive way but that was the first time in my life I recall being perceived racially. I had to be like 5. So my mother explained race rather well. She just said the world is full of different features & colors and that’s ok. We are black

What I’m getting to is in pw environments it’s natural to have a considerable amount of friends that don’t look like you (this extends beyond yts) esp if you are the minority. I know a lot of BIPOC that have this experience. U have so much in common at the surface level

But they aren’t black so maybe at 15 police brutality doesn’t make sense to them in the way that it does for u, moving forward, or maybe there are instances where you can’t advocate for self in the way you would have as an adult.

Okay so basically I’m gonna dead this thread bc the point is I kno so many yt people & I love a lot of em too but I don’t trust y’all (blindly). I trust my partner bc we have a consistent & ever expanding dialogue on such topics bc u have to when that’s ur relationship
