Okay, I& #39;ve been getting lots of messages on how people can get the best out of LinkedIn.
The truth is that LinkedIn is not so different from Facebook, the only difference is the atmosphere and purpose.
LinkedIn has similar features as Facebook. https://twitter.com/rosemary_egbo/status/1265665204651687946">https://twitter.com/rosemary_...
LinkedIn refers to the people you connect with as "Connections", while Facebook refers to them as "Friends."
LinkedIn is for business, while Facebook is for socialising, though it can be used for business.
LinkedIn overtook other social media platforms as the number 1 business to
business platform on the world.
Therefore, you have to take your business and career to that platform.
Now, let& #39;s get down to business
How to use LinkedIn profitably
1. Create a LinkedIn account: A LinkedIn account takes about 2 minutes create. It& #39;s as easy as that.
2. Work on your profile: In the world of business/career, your profile is everything and so is your LinkedIn profile. Your profile serves as your CV.
Put things that are relevant to your business/career on your profile. It& #39;s not a place to put up a funny Twitter profile.
You need to be serious to be taken seriously on that platform. Be truthful about what you do and what you& #39;ve achieved.
Make sure someone can know about you and your career by perusing your profile.
Put up a corporate profile picture.
3. Connect with people: As I said earlier, you connect with people and not "befriend" people like it is the case on Facebook. As a starter, you might be tempted to connect with just anyone, but I always advise people to connect more with people relevant to their industry.
No knowledge is bad, but don& #39;t fill up your connection list with people that won& #39;t add to your growth. If you& #39;re a business developer, connect more with founders, entrepreneurs, CEOs, etc.
People that can need your services.
Leave the door open to people, but don& #39;t leave it
opened for long.

4. Put out informative posts: This is the point many bail on LinkedIn. They believe it& #39;s too hard to put out good content consistently.
It& #39;s not really true.
You can ask questions, rant, share career lessons of yourself or someone else& #39;s, share ideas, drop
tips that have worked for you, etc. LinkedIn requires consistency to be seen.
It& #39;s not like Twitter where you post anything & get likes from people who didn& #39;t even read the posts or follower hunters. LinkedIners are readers.
Besides, you only have 1,300 characters (about 200 words) to express yourself. It& #39;s not a place to make a long post like this one, except you want to post an article. There& #39;s an option for that too.
For starters, you can start with picture quotes.
Picture quotes help build your confidence until you& #39;re ready & confident enough to share your experiences, tips, strategies, fears, success, etc.
Hashtags help get your posts tractions (visibility).
For example, if you make a post on business strategy, you can use hashtags like #businesstips #entrepreneurs #strategy, #businesssuccess, etc.
You can also create your own hash tag to help people follow your posts.
5. Be open to learning: LinkedIn is one place you should humble yourself & be opened to learning. It doesn& #39;t mean you should swallow everything you read there.
If you want to argue, do it with grace and reasonable points. Your comments can either
get you connections, business partners, clients, employers, etc. Leave your "razz" self on Twitter. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤣" title="Rolling on the floor laughing" aria-label="Emoji: Rolling on the floor laughing">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤣" title="Rolling on the floor laughing" aria-label="Emoji: Rolling on the floor laughing">
You get to meet people from different backgrounds, so don& #39;t expect everyone to see things your way.
Be open-minded
6. Be ready to put in the work: It& #39;s not magic, baby. Anything good requires work. Nothing good comes easy & job opportunities, contracts & gigs are not exempted.
The likes and comments don& #39;t come like Twitter, but with time, they will.
You might make posts & get ZERO like or comment. For the Twitter influencers, it& #39;s a tough place to be.
Don& #39;t think you& #39;ll be instantly be as popular as you are on Twitter. Alaye, nobody know/send you there o.
Humble yourself and jejely make your posts or drop your comments.

It took me four months of hard work and consistency to land my first client as a writer.
Look, when you& #39;re serious, people will know. People are watching you closely to see who you really are.
You must work o.
Money, contracts, jobs and gigs won& #39;t land your laps.
Don& #39;t expect people to leave their businesses & start arguing with you like some tweeps.

Commenting and liking people& #39;s posts are seeds. You& #39;ll get them in return.
7. Don& #39;t pitch or beg for jobs instantly: LinkedIn is one place where welcoming a connection can do you good. It& #39;s not like Twitter where people are laughed at for sending "Thanks for following."
People there send thank you messages a lot.
It& #39;s a way to water the ground. I do that all the time & that& #39;s how I get gigs and job offers.
Don& #39;t rush anyone there. It& #39;s not the time to tell your connections how life is hard for you in Nigeria.
You& #39;ll get blocked, or your account will be reported. Respect yourself!
People have eyes and their brains are functional, so if they need you, they& #39;ll inquire about your services.
You can also tell them when you guys get talking. I& #39;m not saying you should be dumb or proud, but don& #39;t do it instantly.
Build relationships first. Don& #39;t be desperate.
8. Shine your eyes: Not everyone there is who/what they claim to be. So, no go fall mugu.
Open your eyes & use your senses. Don& #39;t get carried away by their looks or classy posts o. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤣" title="Rolling on the floor laughing" aria-label="Emoji: Rolling on the floor laughing">
Be calculative in everything you do there. Be intentional about everything you do.
Finally, LinkedIn isn& #39;t as difficult as you think. You just have to be intentional and consistent. Study the platform more.

Download the app from the Google Play Store if you can. Login daily and before you know it, you& #39;re enjoying the platform.
I treat it like a business and that& #39;s why I don& #39;t carry my madness & gragra there. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤣" title="Rolling on the floor laughing" aria-label="Emoji: Rolling on the floor laughing">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤣" title="Rolling on the floor laughing" aria-label="Emoji: Rolling on the floor laughing">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤣" title="Rolling on the floor laughing" aria-label="Emoji: Rolling on the floor laughing">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤣" title="Rolling on the floor laughing" aria-label="Emoji: Rolling on the floor laughing">
Man no suppose play with wetin dey give am money o. I& #39;m not the playful Rose you see on Twitter o.
No be pretence, but na so the platform be. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😜" title="Winking face with tongue" aria-label="Emoji: Winking face with tongue">
