As poc and asians we are inherently more privileged than a black person simply because we are NOT black. It will never be our place to vilify a black person and their struggles simply because BLACK PEOPLE GO THROUGH HELL EVERY DAY FOR THE COLOUR OF THEIR SKIN-

It’s been this way for centuries and to be complacent in the face of blatant injustice is just as bad as being the perpetrator/enabler. As poc we HAVE to give platforms to the black voices that are silenced everyday, we HAVE to highlight their struggles because-

they are literally losing their lives over it. This will never downplay our struggles as an asian/poc but recognise that there has been (and still will be if we don’t strive to make changes) a deep rooted anti-blackness in our communities.

Black people d¡e far too often than many other minorities, so do what you can to make a change that matters.

And I’ll admit that I have said things as a poc for the sole purpose of being funny, but really come from a place of harmful ignorance. It will never be my intention to consciously appropriate ANYONE’S cultures, so call me out (and others) if it’s ever the case.

I’m young and I still have so much to learn and mature from, but the importance is to keep learning and keep trying to make a change so that all minorities (ESPECIALLY black people) feel safe in this world.

What’s the fucking point of privilege when you can’t use it to help prevent unjustifiable d*aths.

if this thread comes off as performartive then I deeply, deeply apologise. I’m just doing what I can as a poc/asian individual to bring awareness to my community for an overlooked but prevalent issue in the black AND international community.

Once again, complacency in the face of blatant injustice is JUST AS BAD as being the perpetrator/enabler. It has never been okay and it never WILL be okay. And remember that these issues transcend the internet’s concept of time.

Don’t let the importance of these issues d¡e out just because it’s not “trending” anymore. It still exists in real life.
