This week @TheKenMunroShow and I decided to buy and tear down a 5G USB bioshield device.
The device came in the form factor of a USB key!

The website states that& #39;s this device includes a "nano-layer is a quantum holographic catalyzer technology"
This isn& #39;t something we come across every day, so were excited to see what this could mean!

Although that technology is outside of our wheelhouse, the USB key isn& #39;t, so onto the exciting bit!
A tear down!
First up was the circular bit, where it looked like it could be where the nano layer is being stored.
Carefully pulling this off, it looked oddly familiar...

We aren& #39;t saying this is a sticker.....
At this point, it was time to plug the device in. Windows instantly recognised it, as a USB storage device!
Looking a bit further, not only is it a USB key, it& #39;s a very small USB key with only 128mb storage!
The device had a single file on it, a 25 page PDF full of marketing "information"
Looking further into the USB, it oddly doesn& #39;t have a device or manufacturer device, which resembles the hallmarks of a cheaply made USB device

At this point, we got a bit bored, we were sad there wasn& #39;t a visible bubble of energy surrounding us, and we had a device plugged in for over 20 minutes and felt no different! (Maybe because we took the "nano layer" sticker off!)
As we do when bored, we tore it down some more

Removing the metal casing, we found this.
The exact same form factor as a regular USB device.
The connections at one end, a little LED the other.

We couldn& #39;t find out much more information on this exact device, so feel free to do some OSINT! Here are the values on the back of the device
Thank you to @ruskin147 at the BBC for covering this story and bringing it out to the masses! His writeup is available here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-52810220">https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/tech...
We aren& #39;t able to 100% say that this doesn& #39;t do what it claims. However we can say that this does highly resemble a £5 USB stick widely available on the internet.
