Maharashtrian Bramhins of kashI became jealous of Taranath Tarkabachaspati after he wrote a Commentary on Siddhanta-kaumudi coz till now they weren't able to do it "& a Bengali scholar did it."
Dhenkanal king himself was a great scholar of Vedanta & he invited all scholars at Kolkata to write a commentary on Siddhantavindu. Except Taranath everyone failed. He wrote a book called Siddhantavindusara & created a commentary on Bramhastotra of Shankaracharya.
He also collected Veda mantras and wrote a book(Tuladanadi Paddhati) on Karma-kanda part of Veda.
