Saw a lot of Who is best goalie comparisons and this is just a look at Neuers and De geas records in the past seasons solely based on stats. #MUFC #Bayern

It's pretty clear that Neuer has a whopping 80% save percentage on the shots he has faced in 4 seasons and 79.8 % in 2012-13. On the other hand De Gea has 80% save rate only in a single season 2017-18.

If the CS% is also taken Neuer has the upper hand with more than 50% CS in 5 seasons excluding 2017-18 in which Neuer played only 3 games. De gea on the other hand hasn't got more 50% in a single season. In this too Neuer comes out on top.

And Neuer undoubtedly has had a more trophy laden illustrious career than David, who hasn't had much success in that front with #MUFC . To his credit Neuer is both a World Cup winner and UCL winner playing major part in his teams success.

So if overall career is considered Manuel Neuer is surely the best. With no doubts whatsoever. De gea's simply isn't as good as that. But we shouldn't undermine De geas performance nonetheless.

De gea has faced soTA(shots on target) of >110 in all but 1 of his peak years. While Neuer faced only <90 shots in any season but two for Bayern, never more than 100. If the shots faced is more, chances to concede are obviously more. You can't blame De gea for that

Take Neuer's stats at Schalke. The goals faced are >100 and so his CS rate is never more than 50%. But arguably his save percentage still exceeds 80% even then, which is remarkable and has to be given credit for.

Take just a single best season. THE PRIME.
Neuer (14-15season) - CS% -64.5
Saves - 80.9% of 94 soTA.
(You can also say 13-14 was his prime based on stats)

De gea (17-18) - CS%- 48.6
Saves- 80.7% of 140 shots.

Just look at that. Saving 80% of 90 and of 140 is completly different. It's insane. 80% of 140. And this was the only reason #MUFC hung on to 2nd position that season.

De gea was criticised in,18-19 season saying he had dip in form. He faced a total of 169 shots!! This same season Alisson faced just 96 shots with a 77% Save. While De gea had 71.6% from a mad 169 shots faced.

It's pretty clear that the defence in front of him wasn't doing the job. And you can't expect your goalie to be superhuman always. Mind that we had smalling jones rojo blind darmian even young and valencia as defenders!! That's why De gea can't get CS as other Gks do.
