I’d only add that we didn’t need an estimate of infections to prompt lockdown, when we could see the deaths.
The obvious message is that UK locked down far too late, so it’s time to stop equivocating: if that was a result of scientific advice, then those scientists were wrong (and others were advising differently). If politicians acted contra scientific advice, then they should resign.
I should add that just as many scientists called for an earlier lockdown, so did some politicians. I’m very far from being a Tory, but kudos to @RoryStewartUK who called for much stronger action on 9th March https://twitter.com/Mike_Page/status/1263023470448967681

This would have saved 10s of 1000s of lives.
