Living in America with white Americans must be a fucking nightmare. Let me tell you an experience I went through as a mixed (Japanese/ Turkish/Native Chilean/white) girl in MY OWN COUNTRY (which is pretty weird because here in Chile there are not many problems with racism) 1/3
Basically when I was in medical school, in our campus there was this building that was specifically made for exchange students, most of them were American btw but also inside this building we, as students, could do stuff like check our schedule, school benefits, etc 2/3
I made a couple of friends there, both were American and I remember one day my friend Jim (he is black) texted me so we could meet up and asked if I could wait for him outside the building so I agreed. When his class was over all his classmates started leaving the building 3/4
Most were polite and said hi to me when they saw me yet there was this skinny white guy with black hair and a beard who looked at me up and down and made a face of disgust while when he saw me obviously he ignored me and I was too shocked to comprehend what just happened 4/5
I mean as I said before, racism isn't something very popular in my country, we have our issues but this one is not a big one here, so I didn't even think of it as that until Jim, my friend, came to me and went "Don't mind him, he's a fucking racist" and I was... 5/6
FUMING LIKE SON YOU'RE IN MY COUNTRY HOW COME YOU... Oh my god and even if he wasn't that is just so stupid so Jim told me about everything this guy had done and how black people in the classroom got treated by him and obviously I asked him why was this white racist boy here 6/7
And Jim said he didn't really know but he did heard that he was sent here by his parents as some sort of punishment so he'll stop being racist (¿?) anyways... I'm only an outsider, I have American friends from different races and I can only say America is a big FUCKED UP country
I can only imagine what it is to have to encounter people like white guy on a daily basis, if it made me feel shitty when nothing really happened to me I can only imagine what it is to be killed for your skin color or appearance. I send you, black people, all my support-
And love from Chile, I hope the situation gets better for you soon enough. #Blacklivesmatter

also the numbers on this thread are a mess but I was very upset while writing this so please ignore that <3 thank u.
