#HumTumDay appreciation thread✨
Hum Tum is that one very special and very significant movie of my journey as a Rani fan and Bollywood enthusiast. Though I have watched Hichki, Mardaani, and BnB before but Hum Tum was the movie that made me completely fell in love with Rani.
I remember that after finishing Hum Tum I thought "I really need to watch more bollywood movies" but little did I know I haven't encountered any movie that came close to the magic of Hum Tum (the only movie that I love almost as much is probably Cheeni Kum but Hum Tum still wins)
Hum Tum, as a movie in a whole, is just magicful! Great cast, great story, great directing, great musics, everything is just perfect! (tho I must say I was pretty bored with Ladki Kyon the first time I watched it, I thought "omg this song is taking forever" +
but please it was my second time watching a bollywood movie🤧 and now I completely love Ladki Kyon, how accurate that song is)

I'm lost at words actually because I just love this movie SO MUCH and I cant put it in this professional and scientific way of reviewing a movie
Rani is sooo gorgeous in it and she did an AMAZING job portraying Rhea. Saif, too, is soo convincing as Karan. I have to admit that he annoyed me so much at the beginning of the movie but as the movie passed, both Rhea and Karan matured as a character and it was utterly beautiful
and do you know that BGM everytime the scene changed and a back singer softly shouted the cheerful or sad "hum tum!" I still feel my eyes teared up everytime I heard it in the background. the way this movie has my WHOLE heart😭
there are so many precious scenes in the movie that I want to highlight in this thread but I'm feeling really overwhelmed rn. but I have to, again, bring this one particular moment back for us to sit and think about
Karan might be annoying and childish at first but he was super sensitive and attentive and sensible to Rhea (and everyone) as the time passes. The way he lifted up Rhea when she was on her lowest point, any other romantic movie could NEVER
I have to say, the basic concept of Rhea and Karan's story might not be exactly new or unique (enemies turn friends turn lovers and the "I'm not good enough for you!") but the storytelling itself is what beautiful and felt completely natural, it'll be a lie if you dont love them
and you simply cant talk about Hum Tum without mentioning THAT scene when they were literally spilling their love for each other without even being aware of it.

I still remember the way I held my breathe and went COMPLETELY still when Karan was cupping Rhea's face
It's the kind of scene that made me smile sooo big while crying so ugly inside.
now let me jump to another scene🥴

also, do you guys remember (ofc you all do) that moment in the movie when Karan and Rhea were fighting in the bathroom. It broke my heart to pieces because Rhea managed to snapped some senses to Karan but she, being the one who always +
said "shut up, Karan!" was the one who left with no words after Karan literally shouted (I dont know how to say it in hindi, anyway—) "... a guy like me?!"

they are so perfect to each other......
