It's live: https://celebratedrupal.org/  - go check it out and add your #Drupal9 celebration.

There's plenty of issues still on Github if you want to help improve the website:

Why did I build this website? It all started just over a month ago during one of the weekly #Drupal9 slack meetings which @gaborhojtsy runs. I asked if anyone was planning on celebrating as @amazeelabs along with Drupal Switzerland @mountaincampch wanted to do something together.
I mentioned some of my ideas, @xjmdrupal said "those sound great!" and @gaborhojtsy suggested I take the lead on building up my idea.

I was put in touch with @pdjohnson to find out how people celebrated the Drupal 8 launch on the previous http://celebratedrupal8.com  site.
After a few emails, I was given access by @robertDouglass to the project hosted by @platformsh. They were kind enough to host the new platform for us.

As I'm used to hosting with @amazeeio, I had to go through the documentation to figure out how to setup git deployments.
As with many things in open-source, you reach out and ask for help but sometimes no one hears you.

But that's OK, I wasn't going to let that put me off.

I went on and started designing in Figma:

I learnt a lot about design along the way.
I scaffolded out a brand new Drupal 9 website from scratch with stable9 base theme and the minimal install profile.

You really do start from scratch with that setup.

I wanted to be able to write modern JavaScript, in case I had time to progressively decouple pages with @reactjs
I used Laravel Mix with Yarn Workspaces, and installed @tailwindcss as a dependency.

I had already been using TailwindCSS for another project but I wanted to really push myself to learn about everything it has to offer. @adamwathan has a fantastic knowledge-filled video course.
I setup a bi-daily public Slack reminder to track my progress of the design and development.

Literally typed:

/remind #<channel-name> every Mon, Wed, Fri at 18:00 to: @dan2k3k4 what's the status?

It helped to keep the ball rolling and it got the attention of a few people.
The first person to reach out was @040lab with some crazy ideas but I liked them so we would see what could be developed in time.

I needed a name, a brand, a domain. I reached out to @TimLehnen and we discovered http://celebratedrupal.org  was available, so we purchased it.
Originally I wanted to go-live 2 weeks before the #Drupal9 launch. However just over a week ago, I realised I needed help to get things finalised.

I announced I would do a remote meeting for anyone who wanted to help me. Several amazing members of the community responded.
Some the people who reached out to provide support and help in order to get this project finalised are:
- @baddysonja
- @AshishjainMr
- @SurabhiGokte
- @miromichalicka
- @colorfield
- @suzanne_kennedy
- @zsofimajor
- @realJasonLewis
- @Ltisch_Amos
...and many more
We built this together, so that we can celebrate, in this difficult time as a community.

That's what makes Drupal so special. The community.
In just under a week, the team was able to structure out the content, help finalise some important features, test, and launch all while having fun.

So, I invite you to register and submit your images or videos that represent what Drupal means to you:
