I know I cant stay silent and I'm prepared to face whatever consequences come my way. If anyone finds what I'm saying unpalatable and decides to unfollow, tbh good riddance.

There is a concerted effort by TME people to ostracize trans women, especially trans lesbians, through character assassination over issues that have either been resolved or are fabricated entirely

This use of oppressive force doesn't have to be overt; it's successful in part because instigators do it subtly enough, and do enough allyship posturing to keep their noses clean

It is striking how willing some people are to jump into attack mode if they believe the victim will be forgotten

People smell blood, and immediately the gloves are off: backbiting, deception, and public humiliation are all on the table. Carceral logics are implemented to employ this corrupted ideal of "justice".

This kind of group doesn't seek accountability; it seeks punishment.

If someone lifts a finger to stop them, the individual can be easily dismissed by casting aspersions on their character.

I know enough about this social phenomenon to know that trans women are hardly the only victims of such attacks. Any individual that is vulnerable enough might be picked off for expressing a distasteful opinion or disrupting the hegemonic social order

I'm pissed that nobody is made to answer for what's going on. I'm pissed that even people who could speak up choose to shuffle their feet and look the other way

But I'm most pissed at myself for giving these fake people space in my head, for giving them the benefit of the doubt

I refuse to fall in line with whatever status quo is presented. I refuse to shut off my critical thinking or to feign ignorance.

I'm done letting transmisogyny keep me quiet and obsequious, letting it dictate my every thought and move.

I'm done with distrusting my own senses, with living in fear.

So I suppose as well as a signal that I will not fall in line, this thread is a caution to you. Keep your wits sharp and don't let yourself be gaslit into believing something because the right provocative words or phrases are used.

Until we can restore social systems to being transparent, accountability-oriented and regenerative, this kind of shit is bound to only increase in frequency and intensity and will broaden the scope of its victims
