I’m afraid most students now are under point (ii)

Ramai terpaksa guna hotspot tapi internet still lembap, bila cikgu tengah ajar asyik terkeluar dari Zoom, meja study takde so terpaksa belajar kat meja makan tapi rumah terlalu bising.

Online learning is simply ineffective https://twitter.com/moheofficial/status/1265562805048147968">https://twitter.com/moheoffic...
Silibus pembelajaran dah progress jauh tapi still satu haram pun tak paham. One moment cikgu tengah introduce a chapter, internet tetiba lag, the next moment cikgu dah habis terangkan semua benda.

Last last kena independently re-learn everything from the start = waste of time.
3 scenarios that students face if they were to ask a question through Zoom:

1) Feeling too anxious/malu to tanya the question in front of everyone

2) Don’t know when to menyampuk + don’t wanna seem rude

3) Don’t even understand enough to ask the right questions
Not to mention those yang terpaksa bersila somewhere uncomfortable and fuck up their tulang belakang, just to follow these online classes.

Some also have other responsibilities around the house. Kalau tak buat on the spot, nanti mak bising pulak.
Not everyone has a bibik
There’s a whole ass ministry, being paid by taxpayers, to either come up with solutions that may directly solve these issues, or at least mitigate the effects of them.

Their response so far, in terms of clear guidelines and SOPs, have been shit.

Berapa lama lagi nak tunggu?
Since this ministry is dysfunctional, lembap and a complete waste of taxpayers money, here’s a couple of suggestions.

Feel free to add/comment/point out any flaws.
1) Safest solution: Defer semesters & terms until coming back to campus wouldn’t carry much of a health risk.

In this case, nobody will be left behind academically.

Cons: Academic progress halted, Later graduation, Parents wouldn’t want to pay fees = IPTS wages are fucked
Students should evaluate their personal circumstances. Coming back to campus should be made optional, those who feel like they can make do with current conditions should stay at home.

Those who want to smash their laptops after every online class, come back to campus
Role of the govt:

(a) Reduce uni fees across the board, not just ‘some unis’. (UA, IPTS, ACCA CAT, IPG etc)

(b) Foot the bill for wages in the edu sector

(c) Make testings available upon students’ arrival on campus

(d) Ensure stable internet connection throughout campus
(2) Temporary solution: Scrap the concept of live-streamed classes across all unis/colleges.

(i) Institutions are to provide ready syllabi contents i.e. lecture notes, pre-recorded lectures and ensure teachers are always readily available for Q&A (set a time period perhaps?)
(ii) Flexibility/extensions in submission deadlines.

(iii) A much slower pace of teaching throughout the syllabus.

Creds to @zaraariff for suggesting no. (2)
