I’m seeing a lot of confusion among the anitwt community regarding the usage of AAVE terms.
Let me just remind you all English language keeps evolving every year and integrates a lot of new words. This includes AAVE terms, and no you don’t have to stop using them.

Here’s why:
Integration of new words from different communities has been a staple in English language, that’s how a language evolves. The recent incidents of violence of black people brings out a concerning topic of the usage of AAVE terms, let me tell you it’s fine as long as you’re aware.
Words like lit, fam, RIP, OTP/SHIP, bae/boo, ASF are used by majority of the people nowadays and there are more words we use unknowingly that are actually AAVE terms. You’ll never be completely able to stop using AAVE words because they have been integrated deeply in our society
BUT BUT, you need to be aware of the fact that it’s AAVE and it’s coming from the black community, you need to respect that, you need to respect them. That’s all, and you should be fine. Nobody is telling you to stop just and this is not culture appropriation.
But most of these BOUGIE ASS MFERS committing crimes on black people are also the ones trying to be the most like them. They use their language, they disrespect them, they’re racist and THATS THE ACTUAL PROBLEM. People using the N word like it’s fine, it makes me fume!
RESPECT EVERY RACE PLEASE! HUMANS ARE FUCKING HUMANS, AINT NO BLOOD BLACK OR WHITE.
