If there is an increase in cases do subnational regions & countries have in place the robust test-contact tracing-isolation systems & health care facilities to identify new cases & prevent increase in community transmission again, protect #HCW & provide clinical care?
Transmission has been suppressed through draconian public health measures & physical distancing. But the virus has not gone away or changed. Until we have safe & effective drugs & vaccines we are stuck between restrictions that cannot go on for ever & a return of transmission
We need to be honest about the choices we face. Make sure we have robust Test-Trace-Isolate systems in place for current demand & future surge, protect vulnerable populations & #HCW & accessible high quality health care to look after people who do get ill
Public Heath, Social Science, Prevention, Diagnostics, Treatment, Vaccines & accessible clinical care remain our true exit strategy. Science is the route to bringing this pandemic under control. The exit strategy
