as an asian american, i recognize that i will never experience the same level of abject racism and brutal violence the black members of our communities are subjected to— but that doesn’t mean that i’m exempt from speaking up about it. (1/?)

no one should lose their life because of the “perceived threat” that is their own skin color.

say this statemement because it’s a fact, not a trend, not a fad. we can’t keep rinsing and repeating this statement until the next death. (2/?)

we cannot keep waiting to get angry again, can’t keep waiting for the next life to be lost, next police person to get away with “paid administrative leave.” we must stay angry. we must keep taking action until something changes. (3/?)

don’t remain complicit, don’t turn a blind eye— or else you, too, have silently stamped your approval for the needless murder of many. these people won’t die in vain if we change the system that snatched their lives. (4/?)

make the calls that matter: to your local government, state government, senators, congresspersons, the mayors of the cities in which these people lost their lives. sign every (legitimate) petition you can find. take part in peaceful protests (5/?)

lead yourself with both bravery and moral conviction— it’s the least we can do. nothing will change until we will it to. nothing will change unless we demand it to. one voice in a sea of many, you WILL make a difference, i promise you. (6/6)
