As a mixed person i have never felt comfortable speaking for black people, especially in situations like these. As a person who is assumed to be black (which i am at least partly if you choose to split my person in half) especially by cops, i do think my view matters a little.
If you still refuse to believe in the #BlackLivesMatter movement, you are on the side of the oppressors, of the murderers. Too many innocent lives have been lost due to the inaction of the privileged who believe that staying neutral is okay. Staying neutral is being complacent.
Staying neutral is disregarding the lives of those that do not hold the same privilege that you do. Staying neutral is accepting the murder of innocents. There is no “neutral” here.
If you cannot stand behind #BlackLivesMatter then you must acknowledge that “all lives matter” is not a philosophy that you can hide behind. If you cannot stand behind BLM, then black lives don’t matter to you. All lives matter, but black lives are the ones being taken right now.
Speak their names and sign the petitions. It’s the least you can do and it doesn’t take a lot of time. (If you don’t like this thread feel free to block me, but accept the fact that you not being able to see the truth here means you’re almost definitely racist.)
