“ALL TAYLOR SWIFT SONGS ARE ABOUT HER EXES” A THREAD:

Well I did the math, and even if you stretch the definition of “songs about exes” by including every song where she briefly mentions/references exes, that’s only 37% of her songs across 141 songs.
She’s also written more songs about being in love rather than breaking up with someone. And of those involving about being in love, only 7 are about actual exes. The rest are either about her current boyfriend Joe Alwyn or crushes she’s had.
Of the 40 songs that are not about being in love or the fallout/break up of her relationships, only 8 mention exes. And only 3 can be argued should be in the break-up category.
Additional Notes:

• MA&THBP is confirmed to be about her disillusionment w the US govt. The relationship being referenced is a framing device and not an actual relationship
• Cold as You has the biggest * in my opinion
• The song count does not include covers/songs where Taylor is a feature/any remixes. Collabs only count if 1.) the collaborator is the feature and 2.) it’s an actual duet.
• Blank Space is tangentially about her exes but bc it’s more a commentary about how the media portrays her, it’s in the “other” category
• Same with Shake it Off
• 22 is not about a specific ex but mentions making fun of them.
• ME! is categorized as a love song bc it’s about no one else loving you like Me-hee-hee
Conclusion: No, not all of Taylor Swift’s songs are about her exes. Not even most of them.
