Calvin ( @ithayla) is one of the coolest people I know.

He is kind, thoughtful, passionate, and an extremely talented writer, storyteller, actor, and coach.

Here's a piece he wrote about how a Doom-themed RPG he DESIGNED gave him a sense of control during the pandemic. 1/x https://twitter.com/ithayla/status/1255522994253955073
Here's Marine Squad. In his FIRST TIME EVER running a game, he (along with the rad other players in that game) created one of my all-time most fun tabletop roleplaying experiences. https://twitter.com/ithayla/status/1237061632083329024?s=20
When Calvin posted this review late last year, I couldn't help but grin at it. This is someone who has an absolute blast when he's creating something. IT'S LIMERICKS. THE WHOLE WAY DOWN. https://twitter.com/ithayla/status/1201815016040587264?s=20
Okay, so he's good at making games, writing about games, but can he play games? Affirmative! He's incredibly good at Slay the Spire (a notoriously difficult rogue-lite deckbuilder), but also he can swing a Beat Saber with the best of 'em: https://twitter.com/ithayla/status/1265685961251237888?s=20
Did I mention he's the legendary P.T. Goh in CRAZY RICH ASIANS?
So what's this about?

Calvin has wanted to get to 5K followers for a LONG TIME. Why? Because that'd let him follow a whole bunch more people (he is ridiculously supportive of fellow artists and creators and aside from all this other stuff, that might be my fave thing about him).
He's in the low 4,900s as of tonight. He hasn't tweeted about it lately, but it would make him very happy, I think, to get there!

And it's all upside for you because Calvin is like, one of the most awesome humans in existence.
He didn't ask me to do this. He has no idea I'm doing this (unless he's seeing the tweets in which case, hi fren!)

I don't have much sway on ye olde Twitter, but maybe you do. Retweet this thread. If you know Calvin, tell people why they should know him, too.
Calvin Wong Tze Loon is someone I feel grateful to get to play games with, talk about games with, GUSH about games with, argue with about nonsense with (because goodness knows I agree with him a LOT when it's not just nonsense), and spend any amount of digital time with.
