I’m arriving to the Lake Street Target and surrounding stores. alarms are blaring. Tear gas deployed near 3rd precinct. It’s mayhem here

Now looters have broken into Cub Foods – at Cub Foods

Looters have successfully breached the plywood barrier and started streaming in – at Cub Foods

Now entering through the back door. Yells of “Free food!”

The inside of the Target is smoky; people are trying to break into the cash registers. Alarm is blaring – at Target

I’m making my way over to the precinct. But along the way keep seeing how badly the entire situation has gotten.

Police and protestors have been locked in this standoff. Police periodically firing projectiles to disperse the crowd. Smell of tear gas is heavy

Officers on the roof of the precinct have been firing flash grenades and other projectiles into crowd. – at Lake Street And Minnehaha Bus Stop

Prolonged standoff between demonstrators and police here. Tear gas smell now much more heavy

The Auto Zone is on Fire

They are now working on the Wendy’s next door. I’ve retreated to stay safe.

This is deeply saddening and scary. Doing my best to stay out of harm’s way while documenting what is happening tonight.

Fire department on scene at 9:32. Police arriving to to help secure perimeter of Auto Zone.

Minute by minute, this situation is rapidly unfolding. Police are holding a line around Auto Zone. Firefighters haven’t yet been able to attack fire it seems

Police line advanced. Used tear gas. And I was physically yanked away by a police officer who pulled me and other photographers away.

I’m taking a momentary break to assess the situation. Tear gas seems to have pushed a lot of the crowd away just now.
