how upset would you be if someone murdered your friend? your brother? a family member? george floyd was a friend. george floyd was a brother. george floyd was somebody’s family. george floyd was murdered by 4 white minneapolis officers. george floyd begged for his life. 1/7.

his life mattered, and officers let him die. my friend asked me why we don’t show the same outrage for white people who die at the hands of the police — white people aren’t murdered because they’re white. i am not racially oppressed, and i will never die as an act of racism. 2/7.

all lives matter, but if you use that to fight the black lives matter movement, then clearly not all lives matter to you. blm is a reminder to oppressors and the privileged that oppressed and underprivileged lives matter *too.* here’s a thread about that. #BlackLivesMatter

if you‘re white: recognize your privilege, because it fucking exists. use it as it should be used — to fight for the oppressed, the underprivileged, the underrepresented. if you’re a poc: don’t stop fighting. your life is just as valuable as mine. don’t accept otherwise. 4/7.
