Here is a thread about my graduation message to the amazing class of 2020—with some reflections, some confessions, some discoveries
Couple weeks ago, @HarvardAlumni Association asked if we could send a message for the graduates. So here we go
#Harvard2020 (1/n)

(2/n) Congratulations everyone! You did it, this is an amazing accomplishment. I am from the class of 2010 and here is 3 discoveries I made in the past 10 years @HarvardAlumni #Harvard2020
(3/n) At some point in the coming years, you won’t be able to pull an all-nighter anymore, This may seem like a bummer, but trust me, it’s not. It’s wonderful. It feels great to be able to say, “Oh I need to go sleep now”, please try it, it’s amazing. @HarvardAlumni #Harvard2020
(4/n) The 2nd discovery I made is that being an alumni is much easier than being a student. There is no more problem set, no more assignment or no more paper due. Also no midterm or finals.

(5/n) 3rd discovery, if we are ever in doubt, we should stay away from #humbebragging, because it seems so insincere. Simple bragging is better, and I actually studied this. @HarvardAlumni #Harvard2020 https://www.google.com/amp/s/time.com/5095144/humblebrag-bragging/%3famp=true
(6/n) When I think of my Harvard experience, the very first memory that comes to my mind is the moment I got the letter of acceptance. It’s one of the most unforgettable moments of my life. December 14th 2006, 12:19 am, I got an email from Harvard @HarvardAlumni #Harvard2020
(7/n)That email seemed to start with “I am delighted to inform you...”at that moment, instead of clicking on the email,I entered http://dictionary.com to check the meaning of “delighted”. I knew what it meant(a positive thing) but wanted to make sure @HarvardAlumni #Harvard2020
(8/n) I wanted to check the meaning of “delighted” because I was thinking “is this a prank or is this really happening?!” I thought they wouldn’t say rejection with the word “delighted”.

(9/n) That moment is great to remember, not only because of the acceptance, but because of all those wonderful people, who jumped up and down together with me. My parents, my brother, my grandparents, my friends

(10/n) I’m sure you also have your people who supported you along the way. They listened, cared, cried, they jumped up and down with joy for your success. They were there for you. They will be there for you. No matter what. Please thank them today

(11/n) I came to Harvard on September 5th 2006, with one big red suitcase. On October 18th, I was very homesick and I started crying in my dorm. My wonderful friends at Harvard Holworthy West left me a box of chocolate truffles and a card. @HarvardAlumni #Harvard2020
(12/n) The card said “You came across an ocean to follow your dreams” To this day, I remember that sentence when things get tough. No matter where you came from, you also came across some metaphorical ocean in college to follow your dreams. @HarvardAlumni #Harvard2020
(13/n) You may have changed your mind about something, you met different people. You learned, you improved, you worked so hard. You did come across an ocean and achieved your dreams @HarvardAlumni #Harvard2020
(14/n) And now, I am so excited to see all the amazing things you will discover and experience. Nothing can stand in the way of kindness and hardwork. If we have a good heart, and if we work hard, then it will all be good. You got this!

(15/n) Congratulations #Harvard2020! If you are ever in NC, please let me know
I have so many hilarious stories (all stemmed from my failures and disappointments) Can’t wait to share! Congratulations
