The use of "wholesome":
Being part of a showcase of similar themed games ended up getting us as many wishlists as PAX East. This is AMAZING. Cons were our most effective marketing tool and we were so worried none of the showcases would match it. đź’–đź’–đź’–
Being part of a showcase of like-minded games means every viewer they get is 1000000% more likely to be interested in our game. Being able to find our community is useful and needed. Regardless of if wholesome is the perfect term (no term is) having a label helps so much
"genres are bad actually" discourse is unhelpful to real people. We live in capitalism and good art can't be made by marginalized people if we can't find our niche and community.
